General Summary:
66 Hardware Group Garden Centers are seeking several seasonal part time Garden Associates for their Texas stores.These individuals are upbeat, dedicated folks tasked with assisting Garden Center customers in a timely, friendly manner, as well as the care of all varieties of plants, organization, pricing, and stocking of the Garden Center.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
* Watering and caring for different varieties of plants appropriately and daily.
Includes feeding, pruning, weeding, etc. as needed
* Cleaning, raking, weeding, etc. as needed to keep the Garden Center tidy, shoppable, and safe.
* Unloading shipments of live goods and checking the accuracy of shipments and filing invoices.
* Accurately pricing all garden merchandise.
* Assisting customers in finding plants and types of plants in the Garden.
* Loading and carrying plants, soils, amendments, and decor to carts & checkout.
* Inspecting plants to assess quality and health, identifying disease or pests.
* Appropriately communicating any problem or issue that requires management assistance to the Garden Lead.
* Project a friendly, outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as fellow associates.
* Willingness to work weekends and events.
* Able to work well in a team or self start individually

• Assist to ensure that cycle counts and negative on hand reports are completed timely and accurately.
• Assist in ordering and maintaining desirable product inventory levels to ensure in-stocks and store profitability.
• Assist with merchandise resets throughout the store.
• Assist to ensure all signage is current in the store.
• Assist in presenting a clean and orderly sales floor, including end caps and promotional and incremental merchandising.
Hiring & Training of Associates
• Assist in training of all associates.
• Actively recruit and promote the advancement of Ace associates.
• Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, reviewing, rewarding and coaching Head Cashiers and Cashiers with the approval of the General Manager.
Leadership
• Manage all aspects of store operations in the absence of the General Manager.
• Lead by example; be approachable by all associates and customers.

General Summary
The Cashier is responsible for register transactions involving the sale and/or return of merchandise.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Customer Service
• Project a positive representation of Ace Hardware.
• Greet customers entering and throughout the store. Thank customers by name, when possible, when they are leaving the store.
• Project a friendly, outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates.
• Clear customer checkout lines quickly and efficiently.
• Answer and monitor all calls and pages promptly, courteously and effectively.
• Communicate any problem or issue that requires management assistance.
• Continually build product knowledge base and possess the ability to assist customers with store layout and product location.
• Assist in pricing, stocking, marking, and bagging of merchandise.
Register Operations
• Follow all cash register transaction procedures.
• Responsible for balancing of register drawer.
• Adhere to any Store Support Center program or promotion that may require implementation at the cash registers.
• Participate in store and Cashier meetings.
Front End Appearance and Upkeep
• Keep the front end, (including checkout areas and entrance doors) neat and clean at all times. Face and dust front end.
• Assist with keeping impulse counters stocked and faced, rotate fresh merchandise in as seasons change.
• Ensure fresh ads are stocked in shopping carts at all times.
• Ensure forms and supplies are stocked at all times.
• Assist with decorating the front end according to the Store Support Center program.
• Call for cart pickups when necessary.
• Inform management when merchandise returns need to be put away.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
Other Essential Requirements
Education/Training:
High School or GED equivalent.
Experience:
Cashier experience preferred. Customer service experience preferred.
Physical Demands
Standing, walking, lifting (up to 40lbs) and climbing.

General Summary
The Sales Associate will assist in the receiving, stocking, pricing of all merchandise and help maintain a clean and orderly merchandise presentation and overall store cleanliness.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Weekends are our busiest days and usually where we need help. We also need evening help, but never later than 8pm.
Customer Service:
• Provide a positive representation of Ace Hardware.
• Proactively assist customers in solving problems.
• Greet customers entering and throughout the store. Thank customers when finished and when they are leaving the store.
• Possess a friendly outgoing demeanor, work well with customers as well as associates.
• Ensure all pages and calls are answered promptly, courteously and effectively.
• Forward any customer complaint that cannot be handled to a member of management.
• Possess strong product knowledge and knowledge of store layout and location of products.
• Assist customers throughout the store with personal, customized service based on the premise of amazing every customer, every time.
Store Operations
• Assist in creating a positive, professional, and safe work environment.
• Assist with receiving, checking in and stocking of merchandise throughout the store.
• Assist with maintaining back stock levels.
• Assist with daily maintenance, orderliness and cleanliness of the sales floor, stock room and outdoor merchandise area.
• Assist with providing a clean and orderly sales floor, including end caps and ad merchandise.
• Assist with merchandise resets through the store.
• Provide assistance to Department Specialists, i.e. price changes, special orders.
• Ensure signage is current throughout the store.
• Operate forklift with proper training.
• Communicate any Store Support Center issue to General Manager for follow up.
• Communicate any merchandising, cost control or sales idea to General Manager.
• Participate in store meetings.
• Be professional in appearance and actions.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education/Training
High School or GED equivalent.
Experience
Formal retail experience preferred.
Physical Demands
Standing, walking, lifting (up to 60lbs) and climbing.
