About The Supply Place

The Supply Place is Garrett Hardware’s outdoor power equipment (OPE) sales and service center and an arborist equipment dealer. We sell, assemble, and repair everything from professional-grade chainsaws, top-handle saws, pole saws, blowers, and string trimmers to residential lawn mowers and battery-powered tools. We also carry arborist supplies, climbing and rigging gear, and safety equipment. We’re a designated STIHL Pro Dealer and also carry EGO, Echo, Husqvarna, and Milwaukee. We serve arborists, tree care companies, landscapers, contractors, ranchers, and homeowners across Sonoma County.

If you’ve worked at a parts counter, a service desk, a dealership, a small engine repair shop, or in the tree care industry, and you like helping customers solve real problems, we’d like to meet you.

What You’ll Do

Outdoor Power Equipment & Arborist Sales

• Help homeowners, arborists, and commercial customers choose the right equipment for their property or job
• Demo chainsaws, mowers, blowers, trimmers, and battery systems with confidence
• Explain the differences between gas and battery platforms and between brands like STIHL, EGO, Echo, Husqvarna, and Milwaukee
• Help tree care professionals find the right saws, arborist supplies, climbing and rigging gear, and PPE
• Build repeat business with after-sale support, maintenance advice, and parts help

Repair Intake & Service Writing

• Check in repair equipment and write clear, accurate service tickets
• Track repair jobs in our shop management system and keep customers updated on timelines
• Order parts, follow up on backorders, and keep the repair workflow moving
• Work closely with our small engine technicians to get equipment back to customers quickly

Parts Counter & Inventory

• Look up and order small engine parts using dealer parts catalogs and computer systems
• Keep high-turn parts, accessories, and arborist supplies stocked and organized
• Receive, check in, and stock equipment shipments

Shop Support & Equipment Assembly

• Assemble new equipment for display and customer pickup
• Do basic service such as chain sharpening and simple tune-ups (we’ll train you)
• Keep the shop floor clean, organized, and safe
• Support seasonal merchandising for spring mower season, fall cleanup, storm season, and more

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years in a parts counter, service desk, dealership, repair shop, tree care, or retail role (preferred)
• Mechanically inclined and eager to learn how equipment works
• Comfortable with point-of-sale, inventory, and parts lookup software
• Strong attention to detail, especially with repair tickets and parts orders
• Calm, friendly, and professional with customers, including busy commercial accounts and tree crews
• Able to lift 50 lbs and move equipment safely

Bonus If You Have

• Small engine knowledge (2-stroke/4-stroke, carburetors, fuel systems)
• STIHL, EGO, Echo, Husqvarna, or other OPE brand training or certification
• Arborist or tree care experience, including climbing, rigging, or chainsaw work
• ISA Certified Arborist or tree worker credentials
• Experience in landscaping, agriculture, or construction equipment
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
