Job description
The Supply Place is Garrett’s hub for outdoor power equipment — from professional-grade chainsaws and blowers to residential mowers and trimmers. We sell it, assemble it, service it, and help customers keep it running season after season.
We’re looking for a hands-on, mechanically curious team member who enjoys helping customers, staying organized, and working around equipment every day.
A key contributor role inside a fast-paced, equipment-focused department.
What You’ll Do
- Outdoor Power Equipment Sales
- Help customers choose the right equipment for their property or job
- Confidently demo mowers, chainsaws, blowers, trimmers, and battery systems
- Explain differences between brands like STIHL, EGO, Milwaukee, etc.
- Support customers after the sale with maintenance guidance and parts questions
Repair Intake & Shop Support
- Check in repair equipment and document issues clearly
- Track jobs in our system and communicate timelines with customers
- Coordinate parts ordering and follow up on backorders
- Keep repair workflow organized and moving efficiently
- You don’t need to be a certified mechanic — but you do need to be comfortable learning parts systems and understanding how equipment works.
Parts & Inventory
- Look up and order small engine parts accurately
- Keep high-turn inventory stocked and organized
- Assist with receiving and checking in equipment shipments
- Experience at a parts counter, dealership, repair shop, or service desk is a strong plus.
Hands-On Shop Tasks
- Assemble new outdoor power equipment for display and customer pickup
- Perform basic services like chain sharpening and simple tune-ups (training provided)
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe shop floor
- Support seasonal merchandising (mower season, fall cleanup, etc.)
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in a mechanical, retail, or service environment (2+ years preferred)
- Comfortable using inventory systems and computer lookup tools
- Mechanically inclined and eager to learn
- Strong attention to detail — especially with repair tracking
- Able to lift 50 lbs and move equipment safely
- Calm and professional with customers
- Bonus If You Have
- Small engine knowledge
