We’re hiring Seasonal Full-Time Lawn & Garden/Greenhouse Associates. Enjoy flexible scheduling, competitive pay, and opportunities for advancement. While this is a seasonal role that is hired now through July, efficient and motivated team members may be considered for ongoing employment at the end of the season, subject to management discretion. Continued employment after the season ends is not guaranteed.
This position involves assisting with receiving, stocking, and pricing merchandise, as well as maintaining a clean, organized store and greenhouse, and ensuring an orderly merchandise display.

REQUIREMENTS:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Customer Service:
• Project a positive representation.
• Greet customers entering and throughout the store and greenhouse. Thank customers by name, when possible, when they are leaving the store.
• Project a friendly, outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as fellow associates.
• Clear customer checkout lines quickly and efficiently.
• Answer and monitor all calls and pages promptly, courteously and effectively.
• Communicate any problem or issue that requires management assistance.
• Continually build product knowledge base and possess the ability to assist customers with store layout and product location.
• Assist in pricing, stocking, marking and bagging of merchandise.
Register Operations:
• Follow all cash register transaction procedures.
• Responsible for balancing of register drawer.
• Adhere to any Store Support Center program or promotion that may require implementation at the cash registers.
• Participate in store and cashier meetings.
Store Operations:
• Assist in creating a positive, professional and safe work environment.
• Assist with receiving, checking in and stocking of merchandise throughout the store.
• Assist with maintaining back stock levels.
• Assist with daily maintenance, orderliness and cleanliness of the sales floor, stock room and
outdoor merchandise area.
• Assist with providing a clean and orderly sales floor, including end caps and ad merchandise.
• Assist with merchandise resets through the store.
• Provide assistance to Department Specialists, i.e. price changes, special orders.
• Ensure signage is current throughout the store.
• Operate forklift with proper training.
• Communicate any Store Support Center issue to Store Leader for follow up.
• Communicate any merchandising, cost control or sales idea to the Store Leader.
• Participate in store meetings.
• Be professional in appearance and actions.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
Appearance and Upkeep:
• Keep the department and/or greenhouse, including checkout areas and entrance doors neat and clean at all times. Face and clean as needed.
• Water plants & flowers as needed.
• Assist with keeping impulse sections stocked and faced, rotate fresh merchandise in as seasons change.
• Ensure forms and supplies are stocked at all times.
• Inform management when merchandise returns need to be put away.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
Experience:
Formal retail experience preferred. Knowledge of lawn & garden tools and equipment highly preferred.
Requirements & Physical Demands:
• Ability to lift 50 lbs (bags of dirt, mulch, fertilizer, etc.)
• The ability and willingness to work outdoors for multiple hours a day.
• Standing, walking, lifting, and climbing.
• Needs to have a willingness to learn about plants, or have current plant & flower knowledge.
