Full-Time Cashier / Customer Service Associate

$21.00 per hour | Full-Time | Four Weekdays + Sunday | Saturdays Off
Bedford Ace Hardware is looking for a friendly, dependable Full-Time Cashier / Customer Service Associate to join our team.
This is an important customer-facing position in our locally owned hardware store. Many of our customers shop with us regularly, so we're looking for someone who is pleasant, helpful, and enjoys interacting with people while providing consistently good service.
Hardware experience is not required. We place greater importance on reliability, attitude, customer service, and willingness to learn.
What You'll Do
- Greet customers and provide friendly, helpful service
- Accurately operate the cash register and process customer transactions
- Handle cash, credit cards, returns, and other transactions according to store procedures
- Assist customers with questions and connect them with the appropriate team member when needed
- Answer and route incoming phone calls
- Keep the checkout and front-end areas clean, organized, and well stocked
- Assist with stocking, pricing, merchandising, and other store tasks as needed
- Work cooperatively with other associates and managers to provide a positive customer experience

- Stay organized and productive during both busy and slower periods
- Be willing to learn about our products and store operations
- Be able to stand and walk for extended periods during the workday
Previous cashier, retail, grocery, hospitality, or customer service experience is helpful, but we are happy to train the right person.
Schedule
Full-time, five days per week
- Four weekdays
- Sunday required
- Saturday off
- Consistent and dependable attendance is an important part of this position
Pay & Benefits
$21.00 per hour

Employees generally become eligible for our profit-sharing plan after approximately one year of employment. The current employer contribution is 10% of annual compensation for eligible employees. The contribution level is reviewed annually and may change from year to year. Employer contributions are subject to the plan's five-year vesting schedule and applicable plan terms.
