JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Receiving Lead
A. PURPOSE OF JOB
The primary responsibilities of the Receiving Lead are to ensure the efficient flow, tracking, and accuracy of all inventories, in and out of the backroom. This includes any/all deliveries and all related processes and paperwork.
B. JOB DUTIES
• Unload and load trucks in safe manner
• Operate a forklift or pallet jack safely and efficiently
• Separate Special Orders from delivery and process according to store policy
• Establish and maintain strict organization standards in the backroom
• Maintain organized and accurate files for all paperwork related to the backroom
• Accurately check-in all in-bound merchandise
• Receive and sort all merchandise shipments
• Resolves PO and vendor quantity issues
• Returns merchandise as needed
• Process all damage claims according to store policy and maintain related paperwork
• Follow up on all damage claims and returns to the Retail Support Center in a timely manner
• Keeps the receiving staff safe and accident free with adequate training and safety measures
• Maintain all backroom tools and supplies as necessary
• Oversee the proper procedures for all inter-store transfers
• Responsible for store transfers, customer deliveries and the maintenance of the delivery vehicles
• Manages the Receiving Clerks
• Merchandise assembly for displays and deliveries
• Other duties assigned by the GM
C. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Education/Training: High School degree, some college preferred.
• Posses a vast product knowledge of consumable products along with a willingness to learn.
• Experience in a retail environment
• Skills/Knowledge: Strong organizational skill
• Knowledgeable of store policies and procedures
• Ability to communicate, relate well, and direct the work of others
• Ability to solve problems, work independently, and check accuracy
• Knowledge of retail computer systems, MS Word and Excel a plus
• Excellent communication skills, high attention to detail, and ability to multi-task
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business
D. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
Purchase order handling and resolution
OSHA rules for safety.
Collaboration with sales floor associates for proper delivery of merchandise
Proper lifting technique
E. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Must be able to lift 10 pounds frequently and occasionally move more than 100 pounds
• Work at least 40 hours and overtime as needed.
• Climb stairs
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to operate heavy machinery
F. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Yes. Supervises receiving clerks.
