BELL ACE HARDWARE is looking to hire additional part-time Red Vested Heroes to join our TEAM.

Position Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Part-Time Sales Associate position is to maintain outstanding customer service, generate sales, merchandise product, support the store management team, and become an intricate component of our progressive team environment.

Typical schedule: 16 to 29-hour variable work week that may include weekends

Essential Duties:

• Ensure each customer receives amazing service utilizing the S.A.L.E.S. strategy
• Perform all tasks in the store including such activities as customer service, sales, cashiering, product placement, receiving of merchandise, processing shipments, store stocking, store cleanliness, housekeeping, and operating equipment
• Execute the daily operational, day-to-day goals and priorities assigned by store management
• Be knowledgeable about the store layout, products, and services
• Maintain awareness of all sales, promotions, and advertisements
• Solicit customers to open and understand the benefits of an Ace Rewards card
• Answer phones following prescribed company instructions
• Learn and perform tasks associated with store services:

Mix paint and use the color matching computer

Fill propane tanks per company procedure

Cut rope, chains, hose, plastic tubing, glass, Plexiglas, fencing, etc.

Duplicate keys

• Attend mandatory store meetings
• Uphold merchandising and store cleanliness standards
• Understand and adhere to all store policies regarding safety, security, and loss prevention
• Attend in-store training sessions to continually improve job performance, product, and product use knowledge
• Other responsibilities as assigned by store management

• High School degree or equivalent required
• Ability to combine amazing customer service with strong sales skills
• Possessing a vast product knowledge of hardware related products is a plus, but a willingness to learn is required
• Prior experience in a hardware or retail sales environment is a plus
• Must have basic computer skills, experience with retail computer systems such as Epicor Eagle is a plus
• Must be punctual and have the ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the business
• Must be a solid team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Must maintain a neat professional appearance and maintain appropriate grooming habits

The minimum physical requirements for the essential functions of this position include:

• Ability to retrieve, handle, and move merchandise which will require bending, squatting, twisting, climbing ladders and the ability to lift up to 40 lbs on a routine basis
• Ability to provide continual customer service which will require talking, standing, and walking throughout store for up to 4 hours or more at a time
• Ability to read product labels, dispense product knowledge, and communicate with our customers
• Ability to utilize cash registers and computers and assemble some products which will require sufficient manual dexterity
