Full-Time| In-Store Role | Leadership + Technical Focus

We’re Ace Hardware—the Helpful Place. And we’re looking for a hands-on, customer-first Department Lead to take charge of our Tools &Outdoor Power Equipment department.

Role, Responsibilities, & Expectations

• Manage your department’s daily operations—merchandising, cleanliness, and customer experience
• Perform diagnostics and repairs on STIHL gas and battery-powered equipment
• Balance your time between technical service and team leadership
• Train and coach store associates on tools, outdoor power products, and service intake
• Become STIHL Silver Certified (training provided) and serve as the go-to technical resource
• Assist customers with product recommendations and escalated concerns
• Support store initiatives and act as a shift supervisor when needed

What You Bring:

• Friendly, service-first attitude with strong communication skills
• Mechanical skills and interest in diagnosing and repairing small engines
• Leadership mindset—organized, proactive, and team-focused
• Comfort using computers and diagnostic platforms
• Reliable attendance and attention to detail

Bonus Points For:

• Previous experience with STIHL or small engine repair
• Retail or customer service background
• Bi-lingual Spanish skills

Physical Requirements Minimum

• Ability to stand for an extended period, walk, reach, twist, and bend to perform job duties.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stay active throughout the shift
