POSITION SUMMARY

Upholds the Vision, Mission, and Core Values of the company. The primary responsibilities of the Maintenance Custodian position are to maintain the overall building and grounds by performing custodial duties to include cleanliness, safety, maintenance, and repair functions under general supervision from the GM of Retail.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES·

  • Clean, sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub, wax, and polish floors by hand or machine; clean carpet, upholstery, and furniture
  • Wash windows, screens, sills, woodwork, doors, desks, walls, and ceilings
  • Orders and stocks needed materials & supplies
  • Clean & sanitize restrooms including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and replenishing supplies.
  • Collects and disposes of waste and recyclable material, shovels snow, maintains outside sidewalks and fencing, and assists in keeping outsides premises in an orderly fashion
  • Provide maintenance and minor repairs to plumbing, electrical, and HVAC; may perform routine carpentry work
  • Perform some repairs and maintenance of building by patching walls and doors, painting walls and trims, and replacing fixtures; replace damaged ceiling tiles and repair carpet
  • Mow and fertilize lawn, plant and maintain flower beds, irrigate and maintain irrigation system. Trim trees and spray for weeds and insects
  • Set up and take down tables and chairs for meetings and events
  • Checks &and maintains fire extinguishers, eye wash stations, and other safety equipment
  • Conducts safety audits on grounds to be submitted to the GM of Retail
  • Assist with moving furniture or setting up rooms for events.
  • Dispose of trash and recyclables properly

SAFETY & COMPLIANCE:

  • Follow proper safety procedures when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Ensure all work areas are free from hazards and report safety concerns.
  • Maintain compliance with facility policies and industry safety standards.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES·

  • Experience: One year’s experience in custodial, building maintenance or general labor
  • Skills/Knowledge: Knowledge of cleaning and waxing compounds, heating and ventilating equipment, lawn mowers, irrigating systems, snow blowers, lawn and plant fertilizers and insecticides, floor buffers and custodial equipment, and basic tools utilized in building maintenance; considerable knowledge of maintenance and repair work; thorough knowledge of proper safety techniques and procedures in accordance with OSHA. Skills in the operation of a variety of hand tools.
  • Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills, exceptional organizational skills, high attention to detail, and ability to multitask
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

  • Must be able to sustain long periods of light to moderately heavy physical activity
  • Frequently required to reach with hands & arms, stand for long intervals, walk; and use hands to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls.
  • Regularly required to sit; climb or balance, stop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 60lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision & the ability to adjust focus
  • Indoor and outdoor work in various conditions
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals and maintenance tools.
  • May require evening, weekend, or holiday shifts based on facility needs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, in high, precarious places, and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment can be moderately loud.

The minimum training requirements for this position in the first 90 days include:

  • Ace Learning Place beginning courses.
  • Helpful Ready training (if applicable)
  • Propane certification (if applicable)

The minimum training requirements for this position within the first year include:

  • Ace Learning Place selects advanced courses in a specific department.

Wage: $15.18 hourly

POSITION SUMMARY

Upholds the Vision, Mission, and Core Values of the company. The primary responsibilities of the Retail Sales 1 Associate position are to maintain outstanding customer service, generate sales throughout the store, effectively merchandise product, process sales quickly, accurately, and efficiently with cash register operations, and assist in retail stocking, resets, labeling, etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure each customer receives outstanding customer service which follows the S.A.L.E.S process and by mystery shop standards

• Accurately and efficiently ring on registers and maintain all cash at registers

• Issue receipts, refunds, credits or change due to customers

• Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements

• Execute the daily operational, day-to-day goals and priorities assigned by store management

• Assist in the training and development of peers

• Uphold merchandising and store cleanliness standards

• Participate in the processing of new shipments and help the team to keep the receiving and back stock area clean organized

• Be conscious of shoplifting activity

• Aid customers in locating merchandise in store, on acehardware.com, as well as processing special orders

• Correctly organize and stock product from the weekly Ace truck

• Answer customers’ questions and provide information on procedures and policies

• Execute inventory management protocol as established by the Store Manager

• Adhere to all store safety policies

• Greet customers as they enter the store

• Answer phone calls

• Tactfully and pleasantly assist customers

• Solicit customers to open an Ace Rewards card

• Verify documents and receive product

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Education/Training: High School Diploma or GED

• Possess product knowledge of hardware-related products along with a willingness to learn

• Establishing relationships and working with customers

• Experience in a retail environment either in marketing, sales, or back office

• Skills/Knowledge: Knowledge of retail computer systems and electronic cash registers

• A commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction

• Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills

• Excellent communication skills, exceptional organizational skills, high attention to detail, and ability to multitask

• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business

• Ability to stand for an extended period of time

• Move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store

• Climbing step stools and ladders up to 10’

• Lifting product, including bagged goods and lumber materials, up to 40lbs
